Big Bob's Fish and Chips

I love fish n chips. This place took over from a really successful shop with lovely food. They started off as reasonable and tried really hard. Slowly but surely they have gone down hill. I recently bought flake that you could not even cut with a knife...so appalling that they have now lost me forever. Now...to find a new 'local...

Don't eat fish and chips often because its hard to find a good shop.

I will continue looking the fish was soggy, pineapple fritters with salt on them

and overcooked calamari! YUK

For the cost I expect edible food!

I have not been able to find fish n chips like this for at least 15 years. The chips are as the other reviewer says, the best on the coast, the scallops...oh the potato scallops! Delicious. I have tried the fish both battered and crumbed and both are exceptional. We travel 20km just for the Dagwood dogs (Pluto pups), I never liked them until now! Everything we have got there so far has been perfect but the best part is the customer service and the gorgeous shop itself (actually no the food is so delicious it's the best part LOL), Bob himself comes out from behind the counter to hand you your dinner, he is lovely, and does not half do things or ruin your food because they are busy (you know when you get pale undercooked chips because they don't care enough to do it properly?
