One thing that always makes us go back to Big Echo Karaoke Box is their vast collection of songs as well as their happy hour at certain times of day, including weekends.
Making a booking can be a little of a hassle, though, especially when your booking falls on the crossovers between the happy hour and the "more expensive hour". When that happens, you will have to book enough time on each of the periods or you'd be charged the "more expensive" rate for your entire booking. Trying to get an explanation can also be of a hassle too, considering the staff's language barriers
The place itself is just of standard quality. Luckily, they have recently started a renovation on some parts of the venue, which I believe has been long overdue on a place that makes you feel like you are in the early 90s. I would hope that the restrooms will also find their light at the end of the renovation tunnel.
This place is wonderful itself with affordable prices, strong sound quality, clean furniture and probably the widest selection of music of all languages which surpasses all other karaoke boxes in the Sydney CBD.
Experiences with customer service have been negative unfortunately.
I can no longer recall the last time I have been to other karaoke bars other than Big Echo. For the past few years, this place has always been our go-to spot to showcase our hidden singing talents (or otherwise).
The place is the most affordable especially during weekdays (starting at $15 for 3 hours per person with one free bottled drink), with weekends being the most expensive at up to $55 per hour per room.
The rooms are quite decent. The most important thing is that they have a very extensive song database. You choose the songs from the touch screen display that make things easier, although it is not as user friendly as I would love it to be but it certainly beats entering numbers or using remote control.
The only thing that requires a lot of improvement is perhaps their bathroom. It was quite run down.
I wonder where the staffs were.
Many of my friends like to go here but personally I hate it. For some reason, the place always smells like vomit when I get there. The seats and interior also seem to be getting old. The only thing good about them is the sound quality, but otherwise everything else is unbearable.
