Its great that big w has a party section now. Located in the back corner of the massive floor. Basically has all the party needs from balloons to costumes to decorations. I didn't have to go and find those little party stores as big w had a great variety in different themes and characters like frozen or minions or spiderman or thomas the tank. Prices seem to be pretty much the same as a small party store. I managed to get candles and stuff for loot bags to organise my sons birthday coming. At the same time it was in sale so it was a bonus for me. Everything is laid out neatly so easy to find, not all staggered like the smaller party stores so i didn't need assistance i was able to self serve. Totally recommend to visit big w for all the party needs.
In the recent mothers day that just past, I was shopping around at highpoint in looking for the ideal gift for my mother. Its great to step into a large department store like Big W and see their entire mothers day gift nicely display at the front entrance. The staffs here have always been friendly and helpful. For those of you who dont already know, that Big W is part of the Woolworth family, I have found their prices at times much more competitive than their sister company Safeway eg. Chocolates, biscuits, shampoo. Best to shop around between both stores for price comparison. With reference to returning goods, they have always been great about it. With a receipt of course there are no issues, I have had instances in which I have lost the receipt and they have generally been really good in providing an exchange or credit note which I believe is valid for up to a year.
This store is bit dated now and could do with a fresh make over. Apart from that, it's pretty much like any other Big W, although I feel this one is a bit smaller than others. Staff are friendly as always. Pricing at Big W, I find tends to be one of the cheapest compared to other similar stores.
