Holiday from HELL!! NEVER AGAIN!!!
We arrived on a hot afternoon. Got the keys and went to our room. Switched on the air con and it was hot as hell. We waited for a while and it was not cooler and it was our baby's sleep time so we had to drive our baby out in a car to sleep. The whole afternoon, it was still not cooler. It was only bearable after the sun ...read more
Cania gorge big 4, what a joke! Horrible experience, firstly the cabin was old, duck tape over hole in wall, gas stove required lighter to light it, mould and rust in shower. Ants nest in porta cot that i had to put up. Had to pay extra for my son though that still did not cover linen. Aircon was directly on top bunk making that bunk unusable. Window did not lock. Ooh and paint peeling from roof and walls. Booked in for a roast dinner that was 20 dollars each only to turn up and be told u need to bring own plates and cultlery only get one serving and need to washup urself what a waste of money. My children got very sick and i had a baby with very high temperatures requiring medical treatment. We decided to check out early to seek medical treatment for our child, only to be told they would not credit or refund any moneys owing. No compassion at all for our unfortunate situation. Very unhappy with the way we were treated. They were rude and not remotely ...read more
Cania Gorge Caravan and Tourist Park (Big 4) was great. My children want to go back in the warmer months not in July/July as it does get to zero degrees. The park is design with children in mind so there are activities the children can do within the park especially the movies in school holidays. The park is easy access to the dam and walks in the national park.
Arrival to the park itself found that the staff lady wanted to overcharge us and argued about the price until I asked to speak with the manager and showed my email confirmation. Other than that the park itself was clean and tidy. Daily 5pm feed time with local birds was an absolute pleasure with Rainbow Lorikeets, King Parrots, Pink and Gray Galahs and Cookatoos. The Bettongs at night were wonderful to see. The kids enjoyed the pool and jumping pillows. Found their meal nights were expensive for a large family so didn't bother. Management did not handle the December 2010 Flood situation well with many residents camp sites flooded and they had to move with no assistance from Park Staff or Management. Would not revisit this park again with current management in place.
