I purchased a Dyson vacuum cleaner from Bing Lee Chatswood, which stopped working properly after a few months. I went back to the store and the store assessed the vacuum cleaner as having the following faults: "Stops while in use, loss of suction, very loud motor". This was obviously a major issue so I asked for a full refund or replacement, as I am entitled to under the Australian Consumer Law.
To my shock John the Store Manager at Bing Lee Chatswood refused. He said he would only deal with the issue after Bing Lee had finished talking to the manufacturer (which would take about a month!), even though Bing Lee already made an assessment. It's great having a Bing Lee in the Chatswood Westfield, it makes the complex even more of a one-stop shop! I have been having some bad experiences recently in large department stores so it was really great to walk in and have someone help me right away! I was blender shopping and unfortunately they didn't have the brand I wanted.
Really should have read reviews here before buying my vacuum. Came here and the the service is good when are still deciding to hand over your money, but once you do it's the end of customer service. I was served by the staff who was friendly and did all they could to help us, there was no stock so they ordered it from another store, I was buying 2 dysons and they didn't have stock. They advised the vacuums would arrive in 3 days. After 3 days I called the store, and they hadn't arrived. After 5 days, I called the store again and it had 'arrived'. I went to the store to pick up the vacuums but when I got there, I was told they had not arrived. After asking to speak to the management they went out the back and came out with one of the two vacuums. The box was damaged, faded and looked as though it had fallen off the back of a truck. The staff and management at this store do not seem to understand the meaning of customer service. I purchased a navigator that turned out to be faulty. It is a long story, so in a nutshell, what should have been a simple return/replacement, turned into a major ordeal! The management was not at all helpful and was very rude. They said they would have to test the navigator and that would take up to 2 weeks! I had to firmly stand my ground and insist on an immediate replacement. This experience has put me off Bing Lee altogether and I will certainly not be back. I did not feel at all looked after as a customer.
