Came here for dinner and opted for their steak tartare, the tuna tartare, the mussels and for our mains we ordered the lamb and wagyu. This was perfect to complement with glasses of wine recommended by our waiter. It was a pleasant experience with a table alongside the windows overlooking the promenade along the river. The service was good and the ambience of fine dining experience.
Always a big expectation when dining at a french restaurant especially when located in Crown complex of southbank. Knowing it is a fine dining the experience is given to be exceptional service from the waiters. Booking required as seem to be a popular one on a Saturday night. Dining in a large group, everyone ordered their own meal. I ordered the duck and peas. Quite pricey for the portion but still reasonable size to be full. Full of flavour and the duck was juicy, cooked perfect the meat was nice and soft. Everyone else seem to enjoy their meals, everyone seemed to eat it quite quickly as it was not that big but all seem happy. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially when explaining what the items were on the menu for those who couldn't picture the description. They also made sure everything was ok during the time we were dining. Will definitely be back to try other items on another occasion.
Bistro Guillaume serves some typical French cuisine. Not much to choose from for vegetarians and even less for vegans. I loved the snapper and ordered a delicious side of gratin dauphinois which you can never go wrong with. Save some room for dessert. The crme brulee and the chocolate delice were just outstanding. Service was great and the atmosphere was cosy despite being in the midst of the Crown Complex.
Coming from Sydney, I immediately know that this place is a great place to dine in when my friend suggested this place. Having successfully ran the Bennelong restaurant at Sydney Opera House, it was a given that I should gave this establishment a try.
The restaurant has a classic, contemporary atmosphere not too bright but also not too dark, so it is perfect for many occasions. If you happen to sit upstairs, you will find a saloon-style dcor. The background was made soothing with ambience of easy jazz to get you into the ...read more
