Black Cat Bar
The Black Cat, Cafe by Day, Bar by night, featuring DJ's, Great Food, Outside Garden, Art Exhibitions, Coffee and the best atmosphere in FitzroyBlack Cat Bar is a trendy and relaxing restaurant during the day and a funky nightclub style bar during the evenings. It is a place frequented by local students and people who enjoy a drop of red and white through out the day. From 11am and through lunch they offer a food menu that has a range of sandwiches, pastas, focaccias and pies. DJâ??s play a range of funky music, but for those who enjoy a more quiet glass there is a more quiet garden area outside.

I have to admit that I absolutely love this bar, though I don't get around to visiting it anywhere near as often as I would like to actually visit it – probably because work gets in the way, and if I come down here too much I'd end up spending much more money than I really want to. However, the place just has this awesome atmosphere with some incredible staff. While it doesn't have a traditional beer garden, they had done up the sidewalk to make it stand out quite a lot. I particularly appreciated the outdoor seating area - an undercover oasis of peaceful greenery, where patrons can enjoy their food and beverages even when the weather turns particularly Melbourne. Inside, the decor is a comfortable combination of studentesque and arty, including interesting paintwork & lighting, photography on the walls, and a range of comfy seating options. My only complaint regarding this otherwise marvellously groovy establishment was the lacklustre restrooms, which offered neither rest nor room. Nonetheless, I would return, and highly ...read more
