I have to admit that the one thing that annoyed me about this place was the customer service. Honestly, I’ve experienced a lot better. They weren’t rude or anything, but really, they sort of came across somewhat blunt and disinterested. However, that aside this place really wasn’t too bad, but I guess there were aspects of it that did somewhat drag it down for me. I did like the interior decoration, what did add some character to the place, and the breakfast was reasonably good. It was just that other factors sort of let it down.

The lunch menu touches all tastes but doesn't dally on one sort of dish which makes for great choice of dishes that are uniquely different. The most variety of choice is what you want in your baguette!
Fresh, healthy and fulfilled was how we left! We will definitely come again, this time for the cakes which looked so good as we were checking out (not sure if we'll be leaving with that same healthy feeling the next time)! It makes for such a good catch up place for friends towards the late lunchtime

I felt like I was eating in a forest with all the plants hanging from the walls and ceilings but the food definitely didn't reflect that. Loved the mountain of avocado in the "avocado on toast" and the baked eggs were so flavoursome too. Unfortunately I didn't have enough room for cake but I seriously wanted to try the pomegranate one that everyone has been raving on about.

I'd been eyeing this place off for ages, and finally made a point of going. So glad I did! The dedication to the Blacksmith theme is amazing, from anvil-ly teapots to copper saucers embossed with the cafe's miniker. We had cake and coffee, and the cakes were fab ( pomegranate, choc and coconut slice and an eclair) and the coffee was good and robust. Want to go back for lunch! And maybe try its evening incarnation as a bar.Its decor would work beautifully at night too!

Dine in messy elegance. What is messy elegance? Messy elegance is the term I have decided perfectly describes Blacksmiths food rustic presentation mixed with the sophistication of soft shelled crab, poached chicken or quinoa. Absolutely Delicious!

The best thing about the salad dishes was that they offered a half and half option. I tried the Tri Coloured Quinoa with baked beetroot, walnuts, Persian feta, roasted pumpkin, avocado and pomegranate dressed with a date balsamic vinaigrette, and the Poached Pulled Chicken w/ brown rice salad, mixed dried berries and tamari dressed with a prune star-anise vinaigrette. The Poached Pulled Chicken salad was to die for! To this day I still crave for ...read more
