Block Arcade

The Block Arcade, built in 1893, is one of Melbourne's most beautiful retail outlet centre's. This heritage shopping arcade forms a short, narrow laneway, connecting Collins Street to Little Collins Street in the central business district.

The Arcade offers supreme architecture and interior designs (including mosaic tiled flooring) and exclusive retail stores - making it a hub for both locals and tourists alike. As such, The Block Arcade's unique history and heritage is under the protection of the National Trust.

The large variety of shops, including jewellery, fashion, giftware, handmade toys, lingerie, shoes and cosmetics, is also a major reason as to why the Arcade has held such an immense reputation within the Melbourne CBD for over 100 years'.

One of the reasons I love Melbourne so much is this place - I love going there even if I will be window shopping! It has great atmosphere, is beautiful and has lovely cafes!

Melbourne has some fabulous old buildings, not the least of which is the heritage-listed Block Arcade. Filled with upmarket shops and cafes. It's a lovely old arcade that winds around the heart of the city.
