Blood Orange Foodstore

Dropped in mid week & was impressed. A wide array of delicious looking salads, sandwiches & various specials on the counter.

I couldn’t go pass a curry beef pastie. It was bang on, not to much heat but enough spice to make it interesting. Felt guilty so had a pumpkin salad along side which paired well with the pie. Pumpkin wasn’t hard & a little sprinkle of feta added a little creaminess which but the spice.

The coffe was also great, I’ll even admit my order is a little finicky but it came out perfect. Good temperature, flavour & a little late art to boot.

Finished off with a slightly strange but yum a custard puff, just like a curry puff only sweet.

I’ll definitely be back again!

Breakfast is served until 2pm daily, there are also good variety of lunch choices from the front counter. Wait time is quite long though. The cafe was not very busy at the time we were there but waited for more than 15mins for the ready made food and coffee. Service was a bit slow and cleanliness could be improved.

A gem in Hawthorn. Good service & coffee. Award winning sweet and savoury preserves, quite a number of organic items in the grocery. Will definitely come back and tried the food in the cafe. Was only there for groceries and take away coffee.
