Blu Water Grill
As a visitor to the area, it's absolutely no surprise that a place that has been established for 16 years in Hornsby has outlasted many. It's prime location in the outdoor dining court of the Westfield complex is not the only drawcard, but the great menu of crowd pleasers, from soft shell crab, to malaysian curries, to tapas. A fully stocked bar with talented cocktail masters caps of the visit here nicely!
Had not been to Blu in about 18 months because of a disappointing meal. Went last night and realised why I hadn't been back before. Ordered a Tapas comprising grilled Calamari, Pork Belly, Goat cheese & Olive Arancini and a serve of Portabello stuffed mushrooms. Thank goodness I was sharing with a friend as there is no way I could've eaten this poor quality meal on my own. The Pork Belly was so hard, because of overcooking - it was inedible! Calamari was very ordinary & the Arancini a disappointment. The (3 small) Portabello mushrooms were nice but you wonder if it would have satisfied a hungry tummy given it was a main course meal. We decided to have the Chocolate Crepes for desert - even more disappointing. The crepes were so tough one had to use a knife and fork to cut through them. Staff forgot to give us napkins and were not engaging at all. Will NEVER go back again.
