I used to go here at least once a week when I lived down the road. I always go here if I am in the area as they have the lowest prices and are the best fish and chip shop. They are super friendly and still remember me from when I was 7 years old - you don't get customer service anywhere these days but these guys deffinetly do.
By far the best fish an chips I've ever had. I'd buy takeaway from here over grill'd, pancake manor and any other restaurant with a high reputation. The service is fast and the food is always hot and delicious. Service is always extremely important when owning a business. The couple who own and run blue crystal are by far the loveliest, kindest and most beautiful people I have been served by in many years. Definitely worth buying from here, especially considering how reasonable the pricing is!
Without a doubt the worst takeaway food I have EVER had. We ordered calamari, chips, seafood sticks and fish. The quantity was fine but the quality POOR! Everything tasted the same. Overcooked and tasteless. The aftertaste even worse. I hate to think when they last changed the oil. I am a local and tried their food 4 years ago. It was bad. I thought I would give them another go but NEVER again. Beware! There is a far better option it's worth the extra miles. Never disappoints.
I have been a regular customer here for years but not anymore. Our usually order is 3 chiko rolls & $6 worth of chips. The amount of chips for $6 seems to depend on how the pack your order.

Back in the day you would wait up to an hour to get your order. There was for a reason for the wait, the food WAS awesome!
Now it is different, there is no value for your dollar at all and it is just another sub standard takeaway store that sells heart attacks!
I havent been there for a while and went back there this afternoon just for chips to go with our dinner.
Well the minimum is $3,00 so I asked for $5 worth. It was enough to feed half a male adult and that was for a side dish. I actually went back to the counter and asked if they had given me the correct order, then even asked "Is this 5 dollars worth"?
Im pretty disgusted at the size, it would of filled a small child's bowl to be honest!
I will NEVER go back again, as the chips + gravy cost me $7.50 so I added it to my childrens dinner and my husband and I went without and just ate the chicken and salad I had made at home,,
