The Blue Mountains Gazette usually provides insightful information about local affairs with a lighthearted tone. However, as the Federal Election looms, the Gazette has demonstrated a clear bias in favour of the Liberal party. In the Wednesday 18th of May issue, there are nine advertisements from the Liberals and one from Labor.
The first one is emblazoned on the cover of the newspaper, the face of Sarah Richardson smiling back at readers. The rest of the Liberal propaganda is undermining and negative towards Labor's policies and plans, while the single Labor advertisement (which is located near the middle of the newspaper mind you), addresses the neglect towards the aged care sector and gives a clear glimpse into Labor's plan for the future.
