I would recommend Blue Skies for large groups. It's not the best or most exciting place for dinner, but if you have a conference or party it can be excellent. The private room is large and the staff are attentive. Best of all if you organise it in advance and talk to the chef's we have avoided the dreaded 'alternate drop'. Had a large group there in November who raved about how speedy and timely the food was - not easy for 60 people. Not my choice for a dinner for two but for a large group function I think it's a great option.
While the food is generally quiet good, it is over priced for what you get and the presentation of the food is often questionable. Avoid the dessert unless you don't mind what you get as it really doen't resemble the menu description.
I found there the service to be quiet slow, after about 30 minutes of waiting, we were asked if we wished to order some bread for the table as it was going to be a while, we ordered the bread, which was served just olive oil, traditionally it should be served with balsamic vinger as well, we all found this to be odd. We were never offered water for our table or instruction on how to get drinks, we had to ask. My drink was over priced.
The staff were generally pleasant, although you would be hard pressed to get a smile or some semblance of personality.
Always a good meal and staff and nice and accommodating. Would recommend their oyster kilpatrick, the best I have tried in the area. All of their seafood dishes are fresh and cooked brilliantly. The waterfront position makes a lovely backdrop, especially for a lazy lunch.
A pretty impressive little restaurant when you are looking for a nice quick meal, at a good price.
The restaurant itself is based in the marina, and offers a great view to enjoy your meal - whatever you choose. The restaurant is a bit more than a typical cafe - but isn't a fancy restaurant - however it is very comfortable and suitable for a relaxing and nice night out.
The pasta selections are great - particularly those with seafood, as the seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection! Shame they ran out of Oysters Kirkpatrick though!
Recommended is side serve of bread, with your choice of topping (garlic is the way to go!)
For something a little different, grab the cocktail menu and enjoy a nice beverage, (including a great mocktail selection)
