Stopped by BlueTrain for lunch after a morning spent at the NGV and enjoyed a lovely share platter. The views over the Yarra river are lovely and it was a sparkling blue Melbourne day.
Food was lovely and service attentive.
Quirky decor and bottle chandeliers decorate this restaurant.
Would be back.
This place was packed and I could see why, the pricing. It's fairly cheap considering the location and they have a large menu so it's great if you're going with a large group as they'll cater for everyone.
The service is friendly and the view is nice if you're lucky to get a good spot on the balcony. As for the food, it was good considering the price I'd say. Could be a tad better in regards to originality, ie. having that special flavour/hit to keep me coming back and wanting more.
None the less, a great place and recommended!
Eat at Southbank without breaking your bank? You can at Blue Train! The food is good and the views from the balconies wonderful, especially in warm weather. It can get a bit noisy as it's fairly busy. A nice place to have lunch or a snack. They had some yummy desserts when I was there last!
