Bluebonnet Barbecue

Bluebonnet is an American BBQ restaurant in Collingwood. The menu options are mostly meat dishes, but great for sharing. We ordered plates to share and was tasty. We ordered the chicken, pork, lamb & beef. The tenderness of the meat was perfectly cooked. Portion size was perfect for our table size. It was definitely a gem in the area! We went for the tasting platter and got to sample lots of the sides as well. One of my favourites are the Cheese fries, slaw & cheese corn. Waitress was also great and gave good recommendations and suggested the right amount of food to cater for all four of us!

Well, I have to say, my friend at the book club has a really good nose for picking places to mee, and this was her latest offering. She does try to pick a place that fits the book that we are reading, and this month is was To Kill a Mockingbird, which is why we came to this Southern themed restaurant. They don't bring your meals out on separate plates as they do elsewhere, but rather on trays which suggests that you eat them banquet style rather than individually. Their portions are also pretty decent sized, and they have some pretty spicy sauces available. Also it is quite affordable, though I wouldn't suggest that it is a cheap place to go for a meal. Oh, they don't do coffee or tea either, however they do have some odd soft drinks available, as well as a collection of American beers. Certainly one of those places that is great for bringing groups due to the way they serve their dishes.
