Im in the middle of using BlueKey Lawyers for the sale of my property. I've had to correct a key document where they'd filled in the wrong details in a number of sections on the document. There is non-transparent fees .... that I have recently become aware of. Communications with the conveyancer is very poor, I've had to really push to get the answers to questions I've had - simple questions about the next steps as well as no acknowledgement of documents and emails I've sent through to them. After reading such good reviews on this site, I thought I had engaged a really professional organisation - but I'm qutie disappointed.
I used BlueKey for my property purchase. It was a disappointing experience. I was overcharged on quoted professional fees and charged additional undisclosed fees. Settlement fees, bank cheque fees etc were not as quoted. Ironically enough they include the following text in their quotations "Hidden fees are common in our industry" ... well they got that right!!
Bank Cheque fees are not professional fees, we unfortunately have no control over bank cheque fees ($30). At the time of your quote these fees may not be applicable but due to your particular transaction the bank charged these fees. Our professional fee never changed from start to finish and was actually discounted $100 from our usual fee of $899. We strongly recommend that you take this complaint to the bank if you are unhappy with their fees and charges.
1. The main gist of my complaint is not about the bank cheque fees however these were known prior to settlement and not included in figures.
2. Undisclosed fees WERE charged (not bank cheque fees)
3. Professional fees WERE overcharged on what was quoted. When I picked them up on it I was advised they had apparently discounted their normal fees at the time of quoting (I have no idea whether this was the case or not) and they reluctantly brought them back to where they should have been.
We dealt with Madeleine at Blue Key Lawyers, she was amazing! She clearly and patiently explained each step of the process to us, was always courteous and professional and if it wasn’t for Madeleine, I felt that our settlement date would have been continuously extended. We would 100% recommend Blue Key Lawyers, and especially Madeleine to our friends and family. Thank you so much for everything Madeleine!
