Bluewater Airport

Bluewater airport is Townsville's alternative airport built to assist in relieving the increasing congestion to large passenger airlines at the main Townsville Airport. Bluewater airport currently consists of a high capacity runway (up to 70,000kg) of 1,600m length, with high capacity taxiways and tarmacs. Development of large commercial and smaller private hangers and associated transport, storage and maintenance facilities is invited. The airport is located on a 600acre parcel within 30mins of Townsville CBD and 15mins drive to the northern beaches suburbs.
