Nestled at the base of Mount Remarkable lies the peaceful town of Melrose, the oldest town in the Flinders Ranges. Towering gums, abundant wildlife, mountain bike and hiking tracks provide an atmosphere for fun and relaxation. One of the oldest buildings in Melrose, Bluey Blundstone's Blacksmith Shop provided smithing to the town for almost 100 years. The building's original pug and pine cottage, hessian ceilings and antiquities now take you back to a simpler era.

Bluey's now functions as a breakfast bar and coffee shop, as well as a popular bed and breakfast destination. Famous for its outstanding coffee and scones, Bluey's caters for all day breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas and lunches.

The Cottage, with its authentic wrought iron bed, sleeps two people in superb comfort, whilst maintaining its heritage background. Sealed rammed earth floors in the living area and slate floors in the en suite provide comfort to guests. Private facilities allow you to fully unwind after a hard day of riding, walking or bird watching. The claw foot bath, which overlooks the gardens, soothes away your days adventures. Your private verandah also overlooks the established native garden, teeming with bird life. Continental breakfast provisions are provided for your stay. Cooked breakfasts are available in the cafe.

Sleeping six people, the converted Barn looks out over the majestic Mount Remarkable. Downstairs has the first of three queen beds, pressed tin walls, hessian ceilings and slate flooring giving The Barn its rustic atmosphere. Microwave and fridge, as well as continental breakfast provisions are provided on this level. Upstairs has the dining area, television/DVD and a further two queen beds.
