This place is cool. You know, I know, they know it. The local radio station broadcasts out of there, and you all know you've had a bit of boogie at home when you're getting ready to go out on the weekend! Out back is best, in the garden, with the teepee, as the veranda area can get pretty warm.
The selection of nibbles is ok. Defo go for the cheese- manchego, a great blue and something tastilicious! Chips/wedges weren't great, but hey, cheese is better for you, right?
Service on the weekends can get hectic, and the bar staff don't seem to know their way around yet. Painfully slow on the Saturday we went.
Now that Bunga Bar has closed, this is a great option between the little speakeasy's and the Beach Road, Ravesi's etc. mayhem!!
Part radio station, part bar, part caf, this place manages to do it all well. Theres a relaxed caf and outdoor area out the back (complete with tepee) and the Bondi FM radio station broadcasts live from the booth right there in the middle of the place, so you can sit and watch and listen as the DJs and local acts provide the soundtrack. Since the new bar opened recently fronting onto Curlewis street, the vibe has got just a little bit more upmarket, and the beautiful people can see and be seen instead of being tucked away at the back of the place. The food is still pretty basic as theres no proper kitchen, but thats not what this place is about anyway. Simple, good fun and effortlessly cool, this is quintessentially Bondi.
