Botany Bay Hotel

The Botany Bay Hotel was established in the nineteenth century and as such is one of the oldest surviving hotels in the Eastern part of Sydney. This establishment has a traditional, relaxed Australian pub feel, with the old style wooden bar, patterned carpet and television screens airing the latest cricket, racing and rugby. With a range of beers on tap, you will no doubt find something to suit your tastebuds. In addition to serving alcohol, this hotel offers traditional pub fare for lunch and dinner.

Botany Bay is iconic. It is the location of Captain Cook’s first landing. Since this time and the development of Australia, the area has seen a lot of buildings rise up in the area.
The Botany Bay hotel, close to the ports, was established in 1865 and known as one of the oldest hotels in the Eastern suburbs but it has recently undergone stylish renovations inside by the Publica group (known for Goldfish in the Hunter Valley and Henry’s in Cronulla)
The bar has plenty of beers of tap, a wide range of wines and they also do a good cocktail. I had a nice espresso martini as well as a wine or two. You can socialize with your friends at the public bar which has sports on TV, and Keno as well as sports bet. There’s also a pokies area. ...read more

While it doesn’t look like much from the outside, the inside of the softly renovated Botany Bay Hotel is nice. It’s neutral nice, in a way that allows a wide range of people to put their own stamp on it, and make it into what they want it to be. It remains at its heart though, a common (wo)man’s pub; one where you’ll still find boot scrapers at the front door to take the mud off your work boots before entering.

The hotel dates all the way back to 1865, but it was picked up by the Publica Group in October 2017. This equates to good news for foodies, because this experienced hospitality group are the same people behind Henrys Cronulla, and former Rosebery star, Clubhouse. They’ve brought across the Clubhouse burger, and ...read more

The hotel has experienced new renovations and it looks great. It’s huge and perfect for functions. There’s now an outdoor Peroni area and pizza oven. Food looks amazing. We just popped in for a drink and had an espresso martini and beer. There’s a tab and pokies as well.

I went here with my Mum and family last Sunday for Mother's day. We had a great day and the food was really good. I liked it as the had a Mother's Day special menu which was fancier than their normal menu but the best part was you could order off the normal menu if you wished. I had the fish of the day which was amazing, I'm fussy about the way my fish is cooked and they got it just right.
The pub has both an outdoor and indoor area eating area, public bar and TAB. This pub is worth going to for a meal.
