I was brought here by Boyfriend with the promise of award-winning vanilla slices. And I was not disappointed! I tried the Strawberry Vanilla Slice ($3.70). The vanilla custard tasted fresh, with the strawberry-flavoured icing adding the right amount of sweetness.

I have my eye on the Mocha Vanilla Slice next time around ...

Now this Bakery in Woodend used to have a real homely local feel to it. They always tried to please the customer, prices were reasonable and their passionfruit vanilla slice was to die for. Now they have expanded the business, put in a ticketing machine and raised the prices $3.80 for a vanilla slice, it makes it somewhat less appealing. The passionfruit slice now tastes very generic and is nothing like the one that won many awards.
