We were traveling back from Lake Dartmouth last night leaving at 5.30pm. Got to Dartmouth and found fuel station closes at 5pm! Had to get to Jindabyne and was worried half tank I had wasn't enough. Kept driving towards Tallangatta. Rang ahead and spoke to the staff at BP Tallangatta. The staff advised they close at 7pm. I explained that I expected to get there at 7.05pm as we were still 15 minutes away. When I asked if the staff could stay open for 5 minutes the staff said: "No, Can't do that. I said: We have to get home and don't have enough fuel. "Sorry, we don't do that" As a result we had to camp on the side of the road and wait for the garage to open at Khancoban the next morning - they close at 5pm too!
