Been getting my services/repairs done by Braddon Mech for a couple years now. Always reliable, honest, and decent charges. My first encounter with these guys were in Braddon (as they are now in Mitchell) when my falcon master brake cylinder blew as i was travelling through Canberra just before i moved here. I called six mechanics and no-one would consider looking at my vehicle until the following week. Braddon mechanical were the last and seventh repairer i called, and even though they were flat out, they did what they could to try and get me travelling again so i would not be stranded. These guys have good gumption, they enjoy and respect their work, are happy to talk through any process and educate their clients. Thanks guys, keep it up!
I've been taking my car to Braddon mechanical repairs and Lonsdale tyres for years and have always had the best service and the mechanics are always honest and don't sugar coat any issues I may have with my car. I don't understand why others are complaining about not passing rego checksect. When If not compliant to your car is a hazard on the road, seems to me like the mechanics are being honest and actually doing their job. Being a woman sometimes it's easy to be taken advantage of, the team here have always looked after me and I'm really happy with their service. I will continue to take my car here and always recommend them to my friends and family
Do not take your car to have registration inspection done or repairs. I took my car to Braddon Mechanical Repairers for inspection and it was rejected for a oil leak among other things . After picking the car up the oli leak was still there . I was given the inspection certificate stamt (pass). I was told to pay another $800 to stop the leack that was coming from rear main seal.
Went in for Roadworthy. Failed the car on a whole heap of minor things that should be an "advise' only. They then said I would then need a vehicle ID check with ACT Govt. When I queried the ID check they said the car had multiple VIN numbers so couldnt verify the details of the car. When I got home, I opened the bonnet and found the VIN number clearly displayed on the compliance plate, also stamped on the wheel guard and clearly printed on the previous registration certificate. Braddon Mechanical thought the VIN number was the 'options number' on the compliance plate instead and said I had two VIN numbers, completely disregarding the three places it was clearly marked. Also, they said the hand brake needed adjustment. I tried the brake at home and the brake was so powerful it stalled the car instantly in reverse or forward! Lesson is, usually you go to a place as an honest person wanting an honest oppion. These people are incompetent and want your cash. ...read more
