Came here for drinks with family to celebrate the life of my uncle after his service.. we all raised out glasses in memory of him. The Brahma Lodge Staff were lovely, they were friendly and chatty to us all that were there and the service was great behind the bar and on the floor.
I came here a few times before the recent renovations, once for a meal and another couple of times because my friend was sick of playing eight ball at the same old pub. Personally, I was expecting more of the same, but when I walked past the restaurant I was literally blown away by the new beer garden. So to say that I was impressed is a serious understatement. It seems as if pubs now have another bar, and that is the beer garden. They still have the old pokies, and the sports bar is pretty much separated from the rest of the pub, but I really don't care because I will come here simply for the beer garden. Oh, and they also have craft beer on tap, which is pretty cool for a suburban pub, especially in this part of Adelaide. I must say that now that there is a craft beer bar near my parent's house I'm definitely going to have to bring my friend here when I am back in Adelaide.
The staff were rude, the food over cooked. We had heard glass breakage & one of our party had glass served in their drink. When we advised the staff, we were told of putting the glass there ourselves to get a free meal (which were already paid for anyway). We didn't ask for a free meal nor expect it. We wanted them to be aware, get our drinks changed and receive an apology. Instead plain rudeness after terrible food.
My family and I had a booking for 7:30pm. When we arrived the salad bar was on the decline and wasn't topped up while we were there. The wait staff were ok but the food left a lot to be desired. The roast lamb was tough, the salt and pepper squid was not great and the salmon tasted like it was on its last legs and was served on a bed of instant mashed potato. I can get that kind of food at home, I really don't expect to be served instant anything at a restaurant. I asked for my money back and was told by the wait staff, not the management, it wouldn't be happening. Our whole experience was one of inflexibility and a real lack of empathy. If you are reading this, make up your own mind but there are plenty of other options for us.
