This tasting centre was truly beautiful, with a knowledgeable host who took us through a number of different drops. Personally loved the sparkling shiraz here, but also loved their souveneirs and that they host the art of a local artist (and one of their employees!). Their wines are endearingly named after family members which truly made you feel at home and in the loop with their rich tradition of wine making.
A must visit is Bremerton Wines at Langhorne Creek on the Fluerieu Peninsula. Their tasting rooms are in an old restored 1866 stone barn set amongst the vines and the family homestead. The wood fire just adds that other dimension to the visit in winter. While tasting their wines there is nothing more delightful than to sit and indulge in one of their regionally inspired food platters, or sample some of the wide range of delicious local produce available. Winemaker Rebecca Willson (not the one in the sports pages of the paper) makes some pretty standout wines and has won numerous awards. The Old Adam Shiraz more often than not is sold out but if available is a must buy, while their Verdelho is just a fantastic white wine. Their chilled Racy Rose is pretty good too on a hot day. This place is truly worthy of long, lazy afternoon stop over.
