I was surprised to read the poor reviews of this Post Office. Staff is fairly friendly and helpful and they sell well-priced merchandise such as cards. It's fairly small and not glamorous but gets the job done. It's always a mystery how packages wind up at different post offices but i've never had a problem here.
I hate this place. I would give it NO stars if I could. It's such a cold, quiet, unwelcoming environment and their customer service is bad. I have seen the exact same 2 staff members every time I go there and they never say hi, bye, nothing. Sometimes I go in to collect a parcel and I would say hi to the person behind the counter and hand over my card for the parcel and not a single word would be exchanged for the rest of my visit. They also keep parcels all over the floor where customers have to walk around them. I have considered moving out of Elwood just so I don't have to go here anymore. I now get all my parcels delivered straight to my office purely to save me a trip here (even though I am only a 20 second walk away). They need new staff here because the ones working there now clearly don't like their jobs.
I have a similar experience as Marilyn with this Post Office. They do not to take responsibility nor help in resolving critical issues. There is always someone else to blame. My Parcel was posted to me and a delivery card was left in my mailbox advising me to pick it up from this Post Office. However, after queuing for 30 minutes I was told it's not there. I left my number (but was never contacted) and also went in daily to check whether it had turned up. The staff blamed the sorting facility and send me there to check with them- of course no one there knew about this issue.
In the end I had to get the sender to resend my order.
Very poor service indeed!
I will review this postal service on the following criteria important to me when choosing/paying for a postal service/post box - customer service at the counter, security of my mail/personal information, reliability of delivery and managements responsiveness to service errors.
