I would highly recommend the Brighton Veterinary Hospital and in particular Dr Brian Golden for the hard work he did to heal my 10 year old German Shepherd. She was so unwell when I initially took her into the Hospital but with Dr Golden’s sound veterinary knowledge, caring manner and genuine interest in her well being she has now recovered. I really appreciate the time he took to explain what was wrong with her and then also explain what he would need to do for her recovery. Thank you Dr Golden you are amazing. Congrats also to the front counter staff for their kindness.
Given tablets to fix my dog. Amoxicillin. 400 mg / clavulanic 100mg cost $49.90
I have tablets for myself amoxicillin 875mg / clavulanic 125 mg cost $5.30.
Go figure !
Nice staff but boy do they get you with the charges
Thank you for your comments Pazz. Hopefully your dog responded to the medication and is doing better. Unfortunately we are not able to compete in drug charges compared to your local Chemist for a few reasons. Firstly there is no government subsidy towards any veterinary medication. Secondly, there is no GST applied to human medication. Thirdly, veterinary medication through lack of production and supply is more expensive compared to human medication. Where appropriate, we look to utilise human medication to try and help clients deal with the current financial pressures. And lastly, we are a small veterinary hospital that lacks the buying power of a "Chemist warehouse" etc. We are not a coporate run practice. We pride ourselves on being a family focused practice that tries to offer value for money. We welcome feedback as we constantly strive to meet and exceed our clients expectations. Kind regards Brian.
I've been to a lot of vets, and am so glad I finally tried this one. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. We see Dr Anna Potts who has offered great, affordable treatment options for my dog's anxiety and my other dog's dry eye issues. Consultation and vaccination rates also seem to be more affordable than the other vets I've used. Thanks Brighton Vet!
We had a 8 week old puppy who had been treated previously by an incompetent vet who had no clue what he was doing and for 24 hours they did not do anything. After going to this vet they did many tests and gave her appropriate antibiotics. She went from looking like she a going to die to her happy (kind of dopy) self. The staff were friendly and did not make me feel incompetent. I have never been so happy with the service I have received. I am so grateful to all the vets at the hospital and will be returning when my pup is all grown up. They did not draw the process out and try to rip me off, unlike some other vets!
