Best meat, best prices, best service. I don't buy my meat anywhere else. The warm and friendly staff and the fantastic prices are only bettered by the quality of the products. I used to buy my meat as part of the grocery shop at the supermarket but no more - it is worth the little drive to get really good and tender meat at a much better price than the supermarket.
Never been treated more disrespectfully or rudely by a person, until we encountered the owner of Brookside Country Meats. Have been to this store many times but as the quality of meat deteriorated and the prices increased we took our business elsewhere. We have witnessed rude, aggressive and belittling behaviour towards other customers before from the owner and have tried to stay clear of him. However, when we saw a good special on, we decided to give the store one more go. We politely asked the cashier (she’s always courteous) about a special advertised on their website, which we showed her. Unfortunately both ourselves and the cashier had overlooked the sale date and had only noticed “this week’s special” written above the ad. When this was checked with the owner, instead of politely pointing out that the sale had ended 2 days ago we were met with a dismissive and demeaning attitude and told that the website hadn’t been updated in weeks. Remember to pack a jacket as you will spend all your browsing time inside the fridge! They've nearly everything you could possibly need from BBQ meats and snags to roasts, schnitzel and even eggs.
Usually good specials to be had!
Great priced butcher located along Kortum Drive, Burleigh. There's usually plenty of car parks out front. I always find something on special here, they stock all the regular meats & cuts in the big walk-in freezer. Plus sausages, lamb shanks, schnitzels, roasts, mince, flavoured chicken kebab/skewers, whole chickens, maryland, T bone, etc- As you walk out of the freezer section, you'll see farm fresh eggs for sale, and lovely gourmet sauces & jams. Check out the free local paper for whats on sale at Brookside.
