This is one of Adelaide's oldest smorgasboards, and it's been around that long for a good reason. I think the donut machine is probably Adelaide's oldest but also makes the most delicious on-demand cinnamon donuts you could imagine. The prawns are of great quality and fresh, and the salads are also super-fresh. Especially around Christmas time the ham is beautifully smoked and worth drooling over. Desserts are delicious.
The star I took off is for the price. It's probably debatable whether it's worth the price because at the end of the day you can only eat so much food in a sitting regardless of how good it is. Drinks aren't super cheap either.
If you're taking a date there, my tip would be to ask for a seat in one of the corners of the older section as anywhere near the food gets really noisy. I'd also say to eat as much as you can in the first half hour because after that you'll be full and can make eyes at each other across the table...
Gave this place another go, $35 is just too much for the selection offered, a buffet needs to have more than 4 curries, fish and ham with 2 bars of salads, on a positive the deserts were ok but nothing grand, would be happier if paying $15 for the spread I would be happy.
Avoid if possible not worth the coin
I went the there on Mothers Day. The food was crap. The pudding was runny and the white sauce for the cauliflower was runny. The seafood was disgusting, my husband is a fish monger who knows his seafood. My friend went there last night and said the same.
The chairs are dirty and old. For the price of $32.00 on a Sunday, I will never go there again.
Talking about the all you can eat buffet: Am never coming back here again. Went here a few months ago for a friends bday, and now I remember why Ive never been there for a long time, nor suggest it. The foods are poor and the selection is not much, and the set out is tight (I wont bag the furnishings..) Also the price you pay for the buffet is too much, especially for their lack of variety and flavor. The staff we encountered seemed sloppy. When we went for the birthday and arrived in, we had a table for 20+ booked (including kids) and they walked us to the back area and pointed us in that area are tables were in.. we walked through and I counted and there wasnt enough seats.. so went back to tell them theres not enough, and they said the other separate table was ours as well.. The waiters picking up plates were quite slack when they came around to our table.. I noticed the waiter saw the plates on our table (practically empty-handed) and didnt bother to get them, ...read more
