been to a lot of pubs in sydney over the years, but never been in this one before. seems more of a casual restaurant than pub. dont expect this hotel to have the footy on or have a TAB, but thats what i like about this place. im not really a drinker these days and it was nice to find the Buckland hotel is "bucking" the idea of "pub" and pub food. buckland hotel had a nice atmosphere and by the amount of people in there, its a popular place. great food! i enjoyed the Buckland hotel on mitchel street very much. had a great meal and i will go back there for sure. staff could be little more focused. but overall i give them four and half stars out of five simply because i enjoyed the food so much. just be aware this is not "traditional aussie pub food". simple food style but little more sophisticated onlong with it. go try i think you will like it. i did!

This place use to be awesome, but the new management (about mid 2010) saw all the "true" locals move down the road to the Park View.
They have stopped showing the Monday night Football. When they do show the sport, there's no sound. And well generally they have stopped looking after their locals like the previous management did.
Otherwise the food back then, when I use to go, was good and the old staff were awesome. Not so much now, it could just be my "luck" but speaking to the regulars, we all feel the pokies don't payout as often as they use too!
