I was here earlier in the week to meet up with a friend for lunch. Having eaten multiple times at Co Do in Sunshine and have been impressed most of the time, I recommended this place in Richmond thinking it would be no difference. After been seated for more than 15 minutes, no one bothered to bring out a menu. I called for service a few times, however they must not have heard. Eventually someone came over and apologized. It wasnt even busy given it was prime lunch time so not certain where the lack of service came from. I ordered the duck vermicelli soup an old time favorite and my friend ordered the beef Pho soup. I noticed that my friend left most of the noodles still in the bowl, whilst for my duck soup it was quite disappointing, lots of noodles and very few thin slices of noodles, more fat than meat itself. I didnt expect this, but overall not impressed with the service or food on this occasion.
Well, after an afternoon at the movies, I decided to visit another one of the may Vietnamese/Chinese restaurants that line Victoria St. This time Co Do was my choice (namely because they accepted visa). They don't have alcohol on the menu, but that was okay because I ended up having a smoothy, which was a change from the beer that I usually have with my meals. They also give you a free pot of Chinese tea, which I also think is pretty cool (and it reminds me of Hong Kong somewhat). The main meal came out reasonably promptly, and the staff were also pretty cool. Oh, and I should also mention that the price was really reasonable, but then I expect that from a lot of these restaurants. I must say that I did quite like this place and would definitely give it another shot.
