OMG. I stayed here with my children. Upon walking into the unit (ground level) we were hit with the smell of mould and dust. When the children sat on their beds, they were immediately itchy and were scratching from the word go. Obviously, there was no ventilation, or the room had not being open for months. Having opened the window, the garbage bins situated directly outside the window brought the smell of garbage. When I asked the Management to pls turn on aircon, said no. After inspecting where the aircon was situated, I realised it was above the 7 garbage bins...it was probably not a good idea anyway. The children were coughing and wheezing. I could not let them stay there. The mould is not visible, however the mattressess smelt bad and were reeking of mould. I could not stay another night. The usual B&B experience consists of a bed and breakfast, sadly the Burwood B&B failed on both fronts. We travelled as a group of four on a hot day looking and for some respite found that the $10 rental on a air conditioning remote could have been a quirk - again sadly it was not. Only one room had air conditioning and so the children ended sleeping on mattresses on the floor in the cooler room. The bed was uncomfortable and noisy. The shower dribbled cold water for at least 10 minutes before it warmed up (but only slightly). In the morning the breakfast, which is usually the thing all B&Bs pride themselves on can best be described as... well.... crap. At the self-serve breakfast, cereals were available and the toaster did work, but as far as anything like a hot breakfast is concerned, you best go up the road for that. We booked this place for 16 days in the peek period of dec xmas, new year time, 2 bedrooms appartment with kitchenette and A/C promissed, what a dissapointment, 1 bedroom trashy room, no kitchenette and no A/C not even a fan with below avg bedding offered. luckily I had friends who were willing to put up with us
