Cafe 279

Buzzy, fun and a cute little decor. They've got a great menu but today I was using Cafe 279 to host a coffee meeting so it was just iced lates for us ($5 each). Service was quick and charming.

The coffee here is great and being located across the road from Banana Joes it should be a goldmine of a business. The lack of ambience and the owners very loud children kind of ruin the cafe experience for me. I'll come back because I need a coffee before I do my shop .. Hope next time it is not so noisey.

While the service in this cafe is polite and prompt, coffee is consistently overheated and the food is well below par. My partner and I gave this cafe many chances as the atmosphere and staff are nice but on several occasions our orders were messed up, we were once served a very (VERY) stale croissant and a friend bought an expensive ($10+) take-away fruit salad which tasted strongly of onion - presumably the knife or chopping board were not cleaned. Overpriced, poor food, overheated coffee - go to Post or New Delhi for a quality cafe experience in Marrickville.

Coffee is absolutely the best! A little pricey but worth it! The service is also very warm and inviting!
