Cafes
Cafe Bondi
Caf Bondi takes advantage of its corner position to create a spacious, open atmosphere where all the natural light and fresh beach air do all the work. There are no fancy dcor in this medium sized restaurant/cafe, making it one humble place for locals and guests to enjoy.
We happened to be seated at the middle table, right under slightly flickering lights from the suspended lamps above. The service was very attentive, although it was not as neighbourly as I would have expected it to be.
One food item that caught my attention was the No Carb Meal, which was essentially grilled chicken tenderloin served with avocado and salad. It was very tasty and the portion size was just very generous.
The schnitzel and the rump steak also shared equally generous serving sizes, as well as the salt and pepper squid which was very soft and delicious. With no fancy presentation, the food were just straight up heart-warming and unpretentious.
Terrible service. They take away plates while people are still eating. Rude serving staff. I can't see how they stay in service. The staff are eating while serving customers and then put their fingers on the straws & cutlery. Food is poor at best and coffee is revolting. Stay away there are plenty of other cafes.
i've lived in bondi a looong time and never got around to checking out cafe bondi. I had brunch here with some friends on a sunday morning and we waited a very long time to recieve our coffees as the coffee machine was broken. We got the food just after the coffees that finally came and then afterwards the juicer was broken. I had the beef burger and it was pretty average. I don't think i'll eat there again.
