I went to this cafe with a friend and my 2 month old son, he started to carry on a little bit as he was hungry. After receiving stares from all the staff in response to my sons behavior, which I think is ridiculous babies cry sometimes big deal! I picked him up to breast feed him, I was then told by a staff member if i wanted to do so I could go to other place and feed him! Last time I checked breastfeeding in public is OK! the cafe was quiet and I had a cover on. If I could rate this with no stars I would, the worst place I have been to with my son!
"On Sunday the 9th of October 2011, my family and I went out on a trip and we stopped at Dromana Hub Shopping centre for some lunch. We went to Christabella at the bay. I would not recommend this cafe at all. We wanted to have an impromptu coffee with family on a Saturday morning. We needed a table for 6. The cafe was quite empty & when my husband attempted to move 2 tables together we were told off, & rudely informed that, if you want a large table you must book it in advance! Just for a coffee! The $30 we would have spent has stayed in our pocket, because we left. And as locals our money will go to other cafes in the area.
The place is covered with angry notices about children, additional cutlery for meal sharing, supermarket trolleys, just to cite a few. Behind the notices is a scowling staff shooting dirty looks at laughing children. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome and such an inconvenience at a cafe before.
