One of the best things I love about Footscray (suburb 5km from CBD Melbourne) is the diverse range of foods from all different nationalities you can try. Cafe Lalibela was introduced to be by a work colleague and one of the most delicious Ethiopian food experiences. They even serve Ethiopian Coffee and beer here for coffee or beer afficionados. I ordered one of each meats. Amazing sauce and traditional soft warm bread to dip it with. Well worth a visit and would highly recommend if you are in the area.
One of the many African eateries in & around this part of Footscray, Cafe Lalibela is a good, tasty, cheap, easy option if you want your African fix. It doesn't really differentiate itself from the "African pack" but then I've found this of most of the places here. If you haven't had African, you're looking at curries (or "wat"), served atop tasty injera (a kind of honeycomb textured bread). You eat with your hands. Expect big flavours & lots of fun. Cafe Lalibela follows this tradition & does it well!
