The cafe was quite busy when we arrived so we decided to have our drinks takeaway. The place itself looked quite nice and offered homemade products which was nice. It did take us about 10 minutes to even order anything as there was no one at the counter, it was busy but 10 minutes is a little excessive. We had coffees and hot chocolates (which were delicious) and we're brought out to us where we were waiting which was nice.
I really enjoyed this little cafe! The cafe was really busy but we were able to get a table straight away. The waiters looked flustered as they told us they were under staffed that day. We had to wait a little while for our food but didn't mind too much. The coffee was really tasty and our breakfasts were pretty good too. Although my scrambled eggs were a little bit too oily and buttery. Lovely place and would come back to this cafe again.
First of all this "gourmet establishment" didn't have green tea, so they gave me Jasmine tea and assured me that it was the same and my husbands hot chocolate was tiny. We ordered two pies with salad... The salad consisted of roquet, red onion and one cherry tomato all smothered in balsamic vinegar, both salads also included the added bonus of grit and sand as the roquet was unwashed. Finally the pies were disgusting and were obviously canned Irish stew placed inside a pastry casing, heated and served...the whole meal cost us $45. As a Leura local I would never recommend this cafe or eat here again.
Now that they've seperated their cafe and chocolate store, there's much more space available in the cafe, unfortunately minus the rich smell of molten chocolate!
I've had the high tea both times I've visited, and it is simply divine - gigantic chocolate and cranberry scones with raspberry jam, brie and salmon foccacia, ham, cheese, and chutney foccacia, and other lovely sandwiches, including of course a selection of chocolates on the top tier.
Average selection of teas, but you can ask for a hot chocolate instead of a pot of tea. Definitely make sure I come by here everytime I visit the Blue Mountains.
