Owner chef Vijay Negi?s says his food is Indian ?with a difference? and the local army of loyal supporters are certainly testimony to this. Vijay and his wife Vimla have owned and operated Cafe Saffron for over 10 years and have well deserved reputations for serving quality Indian delicacies in spacious and elegant surroundings. The menu offers a wide selection of north Indian cuisine with many selections unique to Café Saffron. For a change, try some of the unique dishes on offer such as the jaane-e-hindustan sizzling chicken platter, angaar-e-nimki leg of lamb tempered with a touch of rum or murgh chabahar marinated chicken cooked in a special coconut vessel. Complement your meal with a wide selection of side dishes including freshly baked naan, raita, saffron rice and bagheeche Indian salad and save room for dessert such as gajrela - a rich carrot and dried fruit pudding - delicious!
Our favourite Indian restaurant. The three vegetarian dishes we had very very tasty and meat dishes we've had in the past have also been nice.The curries are lovely with a delicate combination of depth and flavour, and the drier dishes are equally good. It seems that the food is freshly cooked to order although no doubt sauces are prepared in advance to ensure quality and consistency.
I got insulted by the kitchen staffs who thought i do not understand punjabi and could not hear them as i was waiting for my takeaway food. It was horrible to hear what they had to say about me, i am indian and they did not show any respect towards me, i highly doubt that they will show respect to other customers. I could not eat the food after listening to their cheap comments. It is not funny, i am the customer and i ordered nicely and respectfully there was no reason to make jokes and comments in the kitchen. I feel sorry to say but please do not go to this restaurant as all you can hear is disrespectful comments if u understand their language if you dont good for you. I feel bad for all other nationalities who would go to this place and think they are being treated well, coz u dont understand what they are talking behind your back. I request you all not to go in this restaurant..
A great Indian restaurant with the most amazing curries. We always get takeaway from here because they are so close. Also great to eat in which we also do when we can get babysitters for the kids. Good restaurant for large groups so you can all share a variety of meals. Very tasty!!
