Popped in for a quick coffee and pancake in-between house inspections over the weekend. I have never been to this Caffe Primo, it is very big and during the time we popped in - made the place look very empty, as we were the only ones theres (besides the staff). Anyhows, the $2 pancakes were a treat and the coffee didn't taste too bad.
Very disappointing indeed. Have been going to this Cafe Primo for 4-5 years and it used to be great value and great food. The last time (and I mean the last time) we ate there, the serve of chips on the plate covered up for the lack of seafood on the seafood platter and the fish on the platter was disgusting. When my partner came back to the table with a second glass of the same wine for me, it was in a smaller glass (about 30% less volume that than the first glass) but he was charged the same price!!! I took both glasses back to the bar and got a whole lot of attitude from the staff who just said that they were given the smaller glasses because they had run out of bigger glasses. Noting that the restaurant wasn't even 25% full, I found this very hard to comprehend. So I poured the contents of the little glass into my bigger glass and when I asked the bar person to top up the bigger glass she almost through the wine into the glass and it was splashing and spilling ...read more
Worst experience ever at a cafe Primo franchise! The staff on the floor are great and friendly to patrons but the food can vary in quality. I paid $28.90 for rib eye steak which was over cooked for med/rare and portion was appox 120g compared to 300g as advertised. I compared my plated food to the advertised menu photograph which was hugely diferent, showed the site manager and at first was given a store managers business card to raise complaint. The site manager investigated further with the staff in kitchen and did advise me that the chef knew the steak was smaller (off cut) and still put it out for service! The meat was also cut halfway through by the chef during cooking which was well done! I was appalled that a steak meal would still be serviced to a customer in this maner at a cost of $28.90. Was given store credit in voucher to value of my meal but have made up my mind to never dine at primo again.
