I have purchased a few cakes from this store and never a problem. I have purchased from their display case and also ordered. Cakes are always great, fresh and well decorated. but the reason why I go back is that i love cake, but hate the amount of sugar most bakeries use. The cakes are on the lesser side of sweet - just right.
Went to the Preston store and got 2 Swiss rolls. Walked out and forgot to get them sliced, worked back in store and politely asked if they could slice them for me. They refused so I asked for a refund and the said they couldn't give me one since I had left the store already. This happened to my 80 year old grandpa, and to think they refuse a simple and easy request to slice the rolls and they refused - terrible customer service, never going back there ever again.
Horrible cake shop to deal with. For example today I wasabout to pay for a large quantity of egg tarts at $1.60 each. Shop assistant would not put them in a box. Rather staff wanted to put twenty egg tarts into a plastic bag. Knowing how fragile they would be, I cancelled the transaction. They would be smashed to pieces before leaving the shop. Lost sale.
Don't order anything from Cake World (Box Hill) - they are unreliable, (on your wedding day - if you are waiting for a wedding cake to be delivered) and you will have to chase them for everything. It is not worth the stress of having to deal with such rude and unprofessional people.
