This is one of those pubs that looks like it is trying to slowly transition itself from a grungy old pub full of locals to a more trendy establishment. However it looks as if it is only halfway through the process. One side of the pub looks like a decent restaurant, but step through the door and you enter a rather grungy sports bar with menus touting trendy bar prices for their meals, as well as having a selection of craft beers on tap. The staff were pretty nice though, but it wasn't one of those places that made me feel all that comfortable, and the front bar was a little tacky. Maybe it will have a further facelift before I return to Warrnambool to basically justify the high prices and the fancy beers, but as it stands it is not some place that I am really keen on visiting again.
As far as pubs go this one doesn't go far enough. In a city with a multitude of pubs, I would encourage to look around before walking in the door of this one. Staff were rough, coarse and unhelpful, meals were not of a decent standard, and definatley not kid friendly.
Lots of work needed.
