In the morning be awakened by the native birds welcoming the new day. The historic town of New Norfolk is close by and offers a combination of history and picturesque scenery. There are many historic buildings, including Australia’s oldest continually licensed hotel the Bush Inn (c.1815). For the adventurous try a jet boat ride over the Derwent River rapids. North of New Norfolk visit the Salmon Ponds and Trout Museum at Plenty, and why not indulge in some pancakes while your there before travelling further north to visit Mt Field National Park. ...read more
