I can't ignore Liam's comments. He must have been very unlucky or have unrealistic expectations. I have been going to Captain Peters for years and, for a few years, traveled 20 minutes to get there.
Fish 'n' chips is a feed my wife enjoy as an occasional treat and we've tried them in quite a few states and even different countries (including England)
As far as I'm concerned Captain Peter's fish 'n' chips are right up there with the best in the world. And on top of that you get a reasonable feed for a good price.
This is the first time I had fish and chips in a few years and I was very disappointed. Everything in the shop was factory direct (frozen crumbed pineapple, crab sticks, prawns etc). What happened to fish and chip shops with big juicy fresh pieces of fish rather than factory processed fillets that are all identical in size? Everything we ordered was also way over cooked. The chips were a very dark brown colour, the prawn the same. This is a glorified shopfront with a deep fryer. I could have bought frozen fillets and chips at supermarket and cooked them in my deep fryer at home if that's what I was after... I expect fresh product from a local F&C shop. I would not recommend this place.
