Carlisle Castle Bistro
Carlisle Castle Hotel is both a pub and bistro in Newtown. It is a casual and informal place for enjoying drinks with friends and games of pool. At the same time it also accommodates for families and diners at their bistro style restaurant.
This place was nice, but not really that great. I guess it had a lot to do with the limited beers that were on tap. Yeah, I guess for a place that I would visit more regularly, they would have to have a decent selection of beers, and in this particular case, there really wasn’t all that much. However, the service was pretty good and the pub itself was rather nice. It even had a pretty decent beer garden out the back.

Dessert was a bit strange too - our voucher said it was a 2-course meal for 2, but ...read more
I went to this pub for the first time last week to have dinner with friends. It's got a good vibe, reasonable sized outdoor area and a bistro. The food is very good for pub food (this is reflected in the prices but it's still a reasonably priced meal,) the drinks are cheap and I plan to go back often.
