Inner Strength, Inner City.Work on the $20 million Carlton Baths and Family Resource Centre redevelopment is nearing completion. It will re-open during January and February 2013 as a number of different spaces are completed.
Carlton Baths services
The first areas to be open will be the outdoor and toddler pools, change rooms and community facilities. These areas will be open to the public from 9am Thursday 3 January 2013.
The final stages of the redevelopment will be the new and improved gymnasium and group fitness facilities, due to open in February 2013. Alternate gymnasium facilities will remain open at College Square until the works are completed. As an added bonus, the Active Melbourne reciprocal rights program (which includes access to health club and group fitness at Melbourne City Baths, North Melbourne Recreation Centre and Kensington Community Recreation Centre) has also been extended during this time.
Membership sales will commence from Carlton Baths on1 November 2012.

The redevelopment of Carlton Baths is part of the City of Melbourneâ??s committment to improving the wellbeing of its residents and visitors by developing places where community services can be accessed easily and affordably. The success of the redevelopment also relates to the valuable input we received as part of the consultation process. When the baths reopens, it will be a more sustainable, easy-to-use extended facility with a variety of features including:

The Carlton Baths include an indoor swimming pool and a gym as well. The price is reasonable and the building a nice style of old, but really the experience isn't anything overwhelming. If swimming and working out is your thing though, then so long as the location suits, this is probably a good business to try out.
