Carlton Curry House

Im not sure how to take this? Adorned on their door & in various places throughout this establishment are signs advertising the fact that in October 2009, Carlton Curry House was named the Number 2 Indian restaurant in Melbourne. So here are the issues I have with this. Two years is a long time in the restaurant game. Reputations are carved up over weeks & months but then lost over one bad night. Secondly, who remembers or cares who came second? Does anyone know who came second to Thorpey at the Olympics? Does any supporter want to remember who came so close but eventually lost a Grand Final? No. To me this reeks of holding on to past couldda beens. But thats the end of my gripe. Now, on to the Carlton Curry House itself. We were warmly greeted by their staff. Four of us went to celebrate,and we were glad that we did.We shared some dishes,my favourite being the warm chicken salad;freshly chopped tomato&cucumber on salad greens topped with warm chicken pieces .A healthy light dish as the evening was warm.I had some wholemeal roti too,without the butter,delicious and healthy.We also had chicken Biryani rice,which was fragrant and aromatic

I really do like the food at the Carlton Curry House and given the obvious very high quality and skilled cooking of the ingredients and the attentive and friendly service I always receive there, this is no surprise. I also like the fact that they're willing to tone down hot dishes to accommodate my tastes. I've proved that it's well worth repeated visits; I've never been disappointed there and that's the truth.
