Always love going to Carrara markets. Always so much to see. Would only say that I'd like to see more food options there.

So much variety in this market and such a big market, plenty to do, see and buy for everyone, definitely worth a look.

I'm not a huge fan of markets but how busy Carrara Markets is, is just proof one persons trash is another's treasure.
I only head here if there's something in particular I'd really like as it's always packed.
If you want a lazy wander to see what's there, it's a great way to while away a few hours.
Finding anything in particular in the labyrinth of stalls can be tricky and it's difficult to just get in and out when most there just want a stroll.
Definitely worth a peek if you've never been and the veges and small goods are well priced.

An absolute delight visiting Carrara Markets. Open weekends there is an array of different stalls to intrigue all patrons including a permanent gaming shop offering a variety of gaming systems, discount games, arcade machines and vintage systems to spark some nostalgia. Clothing stalls, sunglasses, homewares, memorabilia, fresh fruit, meat, seafood and vegetables, plants, antiques and much, much more. The markets are half indoors and half outdoors so can cater to all weather. There are plenty of good outlets to enjoy a bite to eat in between shopping and some weeks there are special events such as the Aussie Roadshow where you could get your antiques valued. Great day out for locals, families and visiting family. There is plenty of onsite parking, ATM facilities although a lot of the stalls and food outlets now accept Eftpos and Woolworths right down the road. This is exactly how markets should be.

A treasure of a place to visit on a weekend and now on a Friday they have "market Days" where you can buy fresh fruit and veges at market prices. There is only one ATM and with banks charging a fee of about $2.50 to use other banks atms these days, it is worthwhile visiting the smoke shop as he only charges you 80 cents to take out money on an EFTPOS card. (check price with him as this was typed July 2008)

Try the italian bakery if you are early enough, they sell out pretty early in the day.

There is also a little plant spot down the back along the road which sells rediciously cheap plants.
