Cassels Wines

Cassels is a small family-owned and operated winery established in 1991 by wine-maker, John Pinto.

All our wines display rich aromas and strong complex characteristics with very distinct fruit flavours.

We source our grapes from premium vineyard regions in Victoria and make the wines in our winery.

The winery is geared to small batch pressings. Annual wine production is generally between 16 and 19 tonnes, depending on the quality of grapes.

The production of quality wines is achieved using both modern winemaking technology and traditional vinification techniques.

Our wines are produced using open fermentation vats and a basket press. They are unfiltered and minimal sulphites are applied.

No animal by-products are used in the fining of our red wines, which makes them suitable for vegetarian and vegan consumers.

Ageing gives wine time to develop character, which is why all our wines are matured for a minimum of 12 months in French and American oak. Our wines are then aged in the bottle for a further six months before being released. ...read more
