Excellent venue with a menu and service to match, family friendly, ideal for large groups and events. The a la carte menu is simple yet refined, the wood fire pizzas add another level of dining experiance. The new team that has taken over few years ago have done a great job, the place looks refershed. Good to have Cavallino back at its best
Visited with a group of 7 on a Saturday night and were quite impressed. We went on the recommendation of a friend. We had squid, pizza, burgers and drinks. The food was very nice and the service was very attentive. The decoration was quite classic and the space was comfortable. Pricing is moderate, we paid about $50 a hear including drinks. Note: it is very very noisy!!
We have been visiting Cavallino's for a number of years now, but unfortunately the place has been slipping for some time.
They used to do an amazing antipasto platter, but around a year ago it was replaced for a cheaper alternative.
One thing that has remained however is the terrible service. The service is atrocious. They even limit the table booking so they can attempt to cope.
There are better Italian restaurants in the Northern beaches.
Give this place a wide berth.
We stumbled across this restaurant by pure chance and couldn't have been more delighted. Great food, excellent service, the atmosphere and decor was beautifully done and really welcoming. The open fires were a great touch and the restaurant was child-friendly. It was well priced and for a family of three we walked away with a $80 bill incl. alcoholic drinks but no dessert (our daughter shared our food as the servings were generous). The chef also made food to order and was very accommodating. Logan the maitre' d was awesome and we will definitely be stumbling upon this little gem more often. Would make a great Sunday lunch venue/romantic dinner out or place for drinks with friends.
Lunch for 12 ladies at Cavallinos. A palette of muted brown decor is anchored by heavy wooden beams and large wooden tables. The staff are welcoming and they had a full house. Apart from pizzas at around $22.00 there were 3 other mains to choose from priced from $28.00 to $35.00. They included fish of the day which was a whole baby schnapper prepared with a delicious sauce of lemon, butter and mustard. Note you will need to order sides of vegetables or salad and of course, bread . Deserts were $14.00. Although the panacotta was advertised as being accompanied by strawberries in balsamic. Those that ordered it were disappointed at the actual lack of fruit. Our waiter, Prarbs, was eye candy enough for those on a diet. So the chef, Michael Diplas, obviously uses good produce and no complaints from me about the cooking. What are the drawbacks? Firstly, Terry Hills is not a place one can get to on public transport so you'll need a nominated driver. A taxi would be ...read more
